StuartMills.com now up...
...Just waiting for Stu to give me some links to put on his page.

Check out the Stills photography, it's beautiful. Main reason I wanted to do the site was because I love Stuart's photography, and as I'd just discovered you can make flash movies expand with your browser ("Full Browser Flash"), it seemed like an ideal thing to do with a gallery. All the fun of flash, plus the ability to use the whole browser rather than being stuck in a rectangle in the middle.

Welcome to Push Pictures
Well, things got to the stage where I had to pick a name with which to present myself to the [corporate] world. So, here it is: Push Pictures. Can't find anyone else in the motion graphics trade with that name so I reckon I'm safe, though time will tell :)

There's a few more videos on the now renamed Portfolio page plus another piece of music. First thing I've written in ages, very satisfying.

Dunlop graphic now up!
The work I did for Dunlop/Meggitt is now up in the stuff I done section.
Plus you can see the site I made for the Divine: agency here. They did most of the work, to be fair, I just stuck it all together :)

General update...
No time to talk, got summat on the stove. Quick update then... Starting work with Neil on a music video for a singer called Oscar - a few test pics here; just finished a project for Dunlop (to be known from now on as Meggitt, if you don't mind), video will be going up on this site shortly; starting the next video for them in a month or so, after producing a substantial graphical thing for Anglian Water. Busy busy busy

Three award wins!
The site I created while at Gas Street won the award for Best Website at the Sage / Daily Telegraph Awards in October.

Gas Street also won two awards at the Creative Cities Awards in November - the Outstanding Business Development Award and the Management Action Programme Award. More info here plus you can watch the video of us at the awards here. Lots of trophies for the cabinet :)

Next steps
Really need to sort this site out. Difficult to know how to balance this site's character; I don't like the idea of having a dry corporate site but it may be necessary if I want to use the site to get more work. Or perhaps I should split my efforts and have two sites, a personal one for titting about with, and a more formal one for pointing potential clients at.

Hmmm.

Freelance boy
Wow, haven't updated the news on here for a bit. At the end of November I left Gas Street to go freelance, to give myself the chance to do more project-based stuff and less office/company admin type stuff.

Been keeping busy - I've redone the audio and sorted out a number of problems and bugs for the Artisan Audio website, created a new Flash site for DJ Blacksmith, one of Artisan's clients, nearly finished creating a Flash site for Stuart Mills, a photographer and DoP (using a new way of creating Flash sites that reconfigure when you resize your browser, pretty cool).

More updates as and when...

New videos up!
More new videos up in the 'stuff I done' section - the first of some viral ads we're producing at GSW for the Church Agency. Also one of the chapters of a fairly graphics-heavy set of videos we've done to introduce a new technology to the world... View

Going freelance (or something)
Well, it's long gone time for me and GSW to part ways; hopefully I'll be able to continue working on projects for them but I can't continue in my current jack-of-all-trades role or I'll never turn my job into a career.

Dunno what exactly I'm going to do yet but I'm probably going to try getting some graphics work - it's enormously satisfying and could potentially earn me a few quid here and there, enough to keep the cat in whiskas and me in marlboro for a while anyway...

A sharp intake of breath...
I hate Dreamweaver. It just caught me out - failed to completely upload an include file to my website, but then let me overwrite my local version with the broken one it had just made. Grrr. Broken site and no (recent recent) backup of the file. Cue some digging through other machines' internet caches to try and find the last good working one...
