Last night's shoot We've been filming a short story as a kind of internal project. Moody piece, set in a dingy pub, involving a murder, mistaken identity and so on. We needed to shoot an exterior scene with a police car, so Neil [the director] booked one from a stage company and we set up the shot outside. As we were on a fairly main road we had to be careful with the traffic but the one thing we weren't expecting was a real police car taking an interest in what we were up to... they seemed quite entertained when we explained it to them but it must have looked pretty odd, what with blood on the pavement, an authentic looking panda with lights going, and a load of people mooching around smoking ciggies and looking suspicious. Took us until midnight on Sunday and about 4am yesterday and we still have another day or two's filming to do. Absoluetely knackered. Shots look nice though... |

Not only ... are these advert text-messages I've been getting on my mobile phone unrequested but the cheeky buggers have got their server set up to put a datestamp from the future on them. Some newer phones with more sophisticated operating systems (like mine, moto T720i - it's rubbish, avoid) list your messages by datestamp when you look in your inbox, so these spam texts sit at the top of your list on top of any newer texts until you delete it. Just plain rude |

Phone divert So, the other day I was going to be the only one in the office. On a Monday. Have to be there at 10am in case anyone phones. Ha ha ha said the others, if I'd planned ahead I could just have diverted the office line to my mobile and not had to panic about getting in in time. [I do plenty of work through the night and I'm never late for a shoot or a meeting, I just have this subconscious thing in my head that makes me hit snooze if it's just an Office Day]
Sussed it on Sunday morning: Our email machine is set up with VNC so I can access the office network from home, and the server has a modem connection. VNC ( http://www.realvnc.com ) allows you to view another machine's screen from anywhere on the net so you can do anything you could do if you were actually there. And the modem - I just got it to dial the divert instruction for me.
I was 5 minutes early in the end |

I know what I should do... my achievements in hacking would bore the crap out of my mates if I told them so I should just write about them here to get them off my chest.
Yup. |

New server, new site… Well… it's been a while but at last I've moved everything over to a new server that allows me to program active pages using ASP. This has allowed me to put up an active gallery I can update from anywhere, a news page, links pages etc… Am writing this sat in the Bull in Moseley, and I can upload it to the site from anywhere… |
